How to Clean and Care for a Carbon Pickleball Paddle

3 min read

A clean paddle spins better and lasts longer. Dirt, oil, and ball scuff fill in the texture of a carbon face and rob you of grip. A minute of care between sessions keeps your paddle playing like new.

Wipe the face after you play

After each session, wipe the face with a damp microfiber cloth to lift dust and ball residue. For a deeper reset, a soft pickleball cleaning block lifts ground-in grime and brings back the raw grit without harming the carbon. Avoid harsh solvents, which can damage the surface.

Protect the edges

Most paddle damage starts at the edge from scrapes on the court. A strip of edge tape takes the hits so the paddle body does not, and it is cheap to replace. Check the edge guard now and then for lifting and re-tape as needed.

Store it right

SOLA SPIN sells a carbon cleaning block and heavy-duty edge tape so you can keep your paddle gripping and protected for the long haul. A little care goes a long way.
